|Wild Wonders of Europe was possibly the first macro project in the world to focus on photography and nature. The idea, developed y 3 photographers, consisted of uniting the best photographers in Europe and sending them on different missions around the continent. The objective was to prove that European nature was more unknown than that of the American or Africa.
The numbers of Wild Wonders are spectacular: in the end there were 69 photographers who participated, more than 125 missions were carried out and 48 countries the setting. The objective was to reach 300 million spectators throughout the world. Some of the endorsers of the project were National Geographic, WWF and Nikon.
The photographers´ work was concentrated in the years 2009 and 2010, and they generated some 200.000 spectacular images. Among the photographers you can find prestigious names such as Staffan Widstrand (Project Director), Peter Oxford, Bruno d'Amicis, Vincent Munier or Iñaki Relanzón himself.
Currently, Wild Wonders continues in its awareness campaign. Two large format books have been published in 8 languages, and a large exhibition has travelled to cities such as Madrid, Turin, Copenhagen, Berlin and Beijing.
The images taken and many other contents can be seen in the official web of Wild Wonders of Europe.
Iñaki Relanzón was given three missions in the Canary Islands. An abundance of endemic species of fauna and flora exist there, as well as volcanic landscapes and tropical forests unique in Europe.
