Biography of Iñaki Relanzon

Iñaki Relanzón (Barcelona, 1972)

 

Iñaki has travelled half the world with his camera and through the means of his photography has campaigned to conserve countryside, fauna and flora.

He has published 6 books of photographs, although his images have been used to illustrate more than 150 projects. The most well-known of these books are "Photosfera, la naturaleza a través del objetivo" and "Ordesa, las montañas de Celia".

His photographs regularly appear in magazines such as "National Geographic" (USA), the "BBC Wildlife Magazine" (UK), "Audubon Magazine" (USA), "Lonely Planet", "Altair" and "The New York Times", in addition to many more. He has also taken part in the important campaign "Wildlife as Canon sees it", which has appeared in the National Geographic magazine for more than 30 years.

He has been given international awards in prestigious competitions such as the "BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year".

Iñaki works on international long-term projects, such as the "Wild Wonders of Europe", or on his own personal project "Madagascar, Noah´s Ark", which he has been working on over recent years. Currently he is preparing another extensive project, "The Living Med", in which he will photograph the last natural refuges of the Mediterranean on three continents.

He has his own Youtube channel and his photos can be seen on well-known websites such as Nature Photo Blog, among others.

His photographs are distributed by the international agency Nature Picture Library.

He is a member of the prestigious ILCP (International League of Conservation Photographers). His current goal is to make sure his photographs contribute to the conservation of nature. In one of his interviews, he encapsulates his philosophy: "A beautiful photograph is not enough".
